Last week at the largest gathering of road traffic management professionals in the world, Intertraffic Amsterdam (April 16-19) , Tom Stone, editorial director of Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology International, got a ride in Stella Terra, the solar powered car created at Eindhoven University of Technology. Here, Bart van Beusichem, an electrical engineer who is part of the student team who designed and built the car, explains the concept behind the vehicle and how it works. The car has off-road capability but is also road-legal. On a sunny day the car can drive for 710km.
