The Swedish brand is set to broaden its EV market reach with the introduction of the new entry-level EX30 Core trim, making its award-winning small electric SUV more accessible to a wider customer base. The EX30 Core joins the existing Plus and Ultra grades, offering two powertrain options: a Single Motor with a 209-mile range and a Single Motor Extended Range capable of 295 miles.
Despite its entry-level status, the EX30 Core boasts an impressive array of standard features, including a rear parking camera, LED headlights, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with built-in Google services. The Single Motor Extended Range version also includes an energy-saving heat pump for optimized power usage.
Pricing for the EX30 Core starts at £32,850 for the Single Motor version and £37,050 for the Extended Range model. All EX30s come with a comprehensive three-year/60,000-mile service package. Orders are now open, with first deliveries expected in early 2025.
In addition to the EX30 news, Volvo has announced upgrades to its XC90 large SUV lineup. New Plus Edition and Ultra Edition trim levels replace the current Plus and Ultra grades, introducing enhanced luxury features such as perforated Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and larger alloy wheels. The XC90 Plus Edition and Ultra Edition are available with both B5 petrol and T8 plug-in hybrid powertrains, starting at £69,425. Orders are currently being accepted, with deliveries scheduled for autumn.
These moves by Volvo Cars demonstrate the company’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle offerings while also refining its luxury vehicle lineup to meet evolving customer expectations.
