Since its launch ten years ago the Captur has sold over two million units in 90 countries around the world. Renault hopes the New Renault Captur will continue to set the standard in urban SUVs, a market accounting for half of all sales in the B-segment, which itself makes up 30% of the total market. To this end the marque is introducing the 145 bhp E-Tech full hybrid option, already selected by over 41% of customers in France.
“More than 10 years ago, Renault broke with the codes of the B segment by infusing Captur with the DNA of the “voiture à vivre” (car for living)” says Fabrice Cambolive, CEO Renault brand. “This vision has been embodied by a maximum of comfort: a high driving position, a liveable interior that can be adapted to suit the lives of the driver and passengers. All this while remaining compact: 4.23m. Captur continues to stand out from the crowd. It is even more in tune with the times, with a new, more assertive design, a E-Tech full hybrid engine, and OpenR Link with integrated Google. These are all useful technologies, and they’re being acclaimed by our customers.”
The New Captur adopts the new design language initiated by Gilles Vidal, Renault’s Head of Design and maintains its versatility, two-tone body colours and generous interior space, along with a range of ingenious high-tech equipment. The cabin is showcased by new upholstery and new dashboard screens. Available depending on the version, the OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in provides the very best in on-board technology with Android Automotive 12, a world first in the B segment. The entirely new electronic architecture takes safety to new levels, with a range of latest generation driving aids including the predictive hybrid driving function and Active Driver Assist, for Level 2 autonomous driving.
Still built at the Valladolid plant, New Renault Captur will be available in Europe from April.
