PFI Fersa Automotive and SEG Automotive have announced the expansion of their ‘redrive’ product line with a remanufactured high-voltage drive unit for the Renault Zoe EV. The new product will be officially unveiled at Rematec 2025 in Amsterdam, April 8-10.
This launch follows the successful introduction of the ‘redrive’ Tesla Model S unit last year, which saw strong demand across European aftermarkets. The Renault Zoe, one of Europe’s most widely sold BEVs since its 2012 introduction, now has many units coming out of manufacturer warranty and entering independent repair networks.
The electric motor drive unit, one of the most complex components in these vehicles, presents significant replacement challenges through traditional OEM channels. PFI FERSA and SEG Automotive’s solution addresses this with a completely remanufactured drive unit offering a quality alternative to full OEM replacements.
The unit is remanufactured at SEG’s facility in Treto, Spain, incorporating PFI FERSA’s bearing technology to ensure durability and performance. It covers serial number 290103231R and will be available commercially by the end of Q2 2025, offering up to 30% savings compared to new replacement parts.
“We’re not just remanufacturing electric drive units – we are extending the life of electric vehicles and expanding the sustainability of mobility,” said Hugo Santos, Chief Business Development Officer at FERSA Group. “This partnership with SEG Automotive combines our leading-edge bearing expertise with their OE production capabilities to deliver performance and affordability to the aftermarket sphere.”
Under their joint ‘redrive’ collaboration, the companies are developing a catalog of remanufactured high-voltage drive units for the independent aftermarket sector. This initiative supports the growing adoption of electric vehicles globally and contributes to a more circular, sustainable service economy for EVs.
The Renault Zoe drive unit will be showcased at Hall 8, Booth 312 at Rematec 2025.
