Peugeot has announced the launch of its fully electric E-408 model, expanding its EV offerings following the introduction of plug-in hybrid versions in 2022. The E-408 combines a fastback design with zero-emission efficiency, featuring a 157 kW/210 hp motor and a range of up to 453 km.
The E-408 is built on Peugeot’s multi-energy E-EMP2 platform, which allows for electrification without compromising style or interior comfort. With a length of 4.69m and a width of 1.85m, the vehicle boasts a generous 2.79m wheelbase. The battery is integrated into the car’s underbody, preserving cabin space and lowering the center of gravity for improved handling.
“The E-408 marks a significant step in our electrification strategy,” said Jerome Micheron, Peugeot Product Director. “Its innovative design and advanced technology demonstrate our commitment to becoming a leader in the European EV market.”
The vehicle is equipped with a 58.2 kWh NMC battery, offering a WLTP combined range of 453 km. It features three driving modes: Normal, Sport, and ECO, allowing drivers to prioritize performance or efficiency. The E-408 supports AC charging up to 11 kW and DC fast charging up to 120 kW, enabling a 20% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes.
Peugeot has emphasized the E-408’s aerodynamic design, with a drag coefficient (SCx) of 0.66, contributing to its low electricity consumption of 15.2 kWh per 100 km. The model will be available in five colors: Okenite White, Obsession Blue, Selenium Grey, Elixir Red, and Perla Nera Black. The E-408 will be produced at Peugeot’s Mulhouse plant in France, and orders will open on October 2, with pricing and delivery dates to be announced closer to the launch.
