Lucid Motors has announced that it will have a global reveal of its Lucid Air electric sedan, which it is calling the ‘world’s most advanced’, in New York this April.
The all-electric luxury EV, which has an in-house developed powertrain that claims over 400 miles in range and 0-60mph acceleration in just 2.5 seconds, will have further specifications and configurations revealed at the event. Battery capacity, charging capability and drivetrain details have so far been kept quiet but it’s expected all will be laid bare at the New York showing.
Currently, Lucid is building 80 beta prototypes of the Air at its Silicon Valley headquarters, which are intended for extensive testing including durability testing, crash simulations, and software tuning of its control, braking and steering systems.
The company recently broke ground on its Casa Grande factory in Arizona, USA, where it hopes the first pre-production Lucid Airs will roll off the line in Q4 of 2020, with full production following.
