Lancia has unveiled its new Ypsilon line-up, showcasing three distinct trim levels aimed at different customer segments. The lineup includes the New Lancia Ypsilon, targeting younger drivers; the New Lancia Ypsilon LX, representing the most fully featured option; and the New Lancia Ypsilon Edizione Cassina, designed for those seeking a home-like comfort in their vehicle. Each version is available in both hybrid and 100% electric configurations, positioning Lancia at the forefront of the B premium hatchback segment.
“The New Lancia Ypsilon tells four stories,” said Luca Napolitano, CEO of Lancia. “It embodies driving pleasure and onboard well-being, simple and intuitive technology, leading electrification, and timeless elegance that Lancia is known for.”
Lancia’s latest model is equipped with a range of advanced features, including a best-in-class exterior lighting system, parking assist, and dual 10.25” displays. It also boasts Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities, all standard features.
Following its release in Italy, the New Lancia Ypsilon will roll out across Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, and France, with Germany slated for 2025. By then, Lancia aims to have over 70 new dealerships in major European cities. The brand also confirmed the future arrival of two additional models: the Gamma in 2026 and the Delta in 2028.
The New Lancia Ypsilon’s powertrains include a fully electric version with a 156-hp motor and a 51-kWh battery, offering up to 403 km range and fast charging capabilities. The hybrid version features a 1.2 L, 3-cylinder engine with 100 hp, providing efficient performance and low emissions. The vehicles are supported by Free2move Charge, offering convenient charging solutions both at home and in public spaces. This ensures that all Lancia customers across Europe have easy access to charging infrastructure.
Napolitano emphasized the strategic importance of this launch, stating, “Today, we take another important step in our Renaissance Plan. The New Lancia Ypsilon is the first car in this new era for the brand, offering three versions for different types of customers: the entry-level New Lancia Ypsilon, the status symbol New Lancia Ypsilon LX, and the comfort-focused Edizione Cassina.”
The multi energy Common Modular Platform (CMP) supports both electric and hybrid engines, ensuring agility and dynamic performance. Specific soundproofing measures and design enhancements contribute to a quiet, comfortable interior, while a wider wheel track and calibrated steering system enhance driving precision and handling. The S.A.L.A. (Sound Air Light Augmentation) interface integrates audio, climate control, and lighting functions, creating a customizable “living room” atmosphere inside the car. This system includes features like massaging and heated seats, ambient lighting, and a high-quality audio system, ensuring a premium in-car experience.
With its combination of advanced technology, elegant design, and versatile powertrain options, the Lancia hope to redefine the B premium hatchback segment.
