Italian EV startup Aehra has unveiled the names of its first two ultra-premium electric vehicles: the Impeto SUV and Estasi sedan. The company, positioning itself as Italy’s first pure EV brand, aims to redefine luxury sustainable mobility with these models set to enter production in mid-2026.
Aehra has submitted a €1.2 billion development plan to the Italian government for the construction of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mosciano Sant’Angelo, Abruzzo. The 207,000 square meter campus is expected to create 650 new jobs and produce up to 25,000 units of each model annually.
“These highly conceptual vehicles represent an expression of pure Italian automotive art, that is, in our eyes, an unprecedented fusion of beauty and innovation,” says Hazim Nada, Aehra’s Founder & CEO. “It will also be immensely gratifying for everyone at AEHRA to have our application for funding endorsed by the Italian government, and to be selected as a project of national strategic importance for the establishment of a sustainable mobility ecosystem.”
The company’s choice of Abruzzo for its production facility is strategic. “Abruzzo is home to Italy’s world-leading carbon fiber industry,” says Nada. “This factor will prove critical to the creation of the carbon fiber monocoque that sits at the heart of the Aehra Sedan and SUV models and represents a world-first for mainstream production vehicles.”
Aehra has also formed partnerships with local academic institutions, including the University of L’Aquila, known for its advanced EV engineering center, and the Polytechnic of Milan. These collaborations aim to support the development of Aehra’s electric powertrain, which targets an impressive 800 km (497 mile) range.
The potential endorsement of Aehra’s funding application by the Italian government underscores the brand’s strategic importance in Italy’s sustainable mobility landscape. As a result, Aehra has been invited to a key summit on the future of the Italian and European automotive industry, to be held at the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy on August 7 in Rome.
With plans to start deliveries in late 2026, Aehra is targeting key markets including North America, Europe, and the Gulf States. The company aims to disrupt the existing automotive ecosystem by leveraging next-generation EV technology and Italian design heritage to create vehicles that embody, “pure Italian automotive art.”
