Porsche’s board has green lit series production for its second all-electric vehicle – the Mission E Cross Turismo. The car, which was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018, is a derivative of the Taycan – the original Mission E concept vehicle from the German OEM. Porsche will create 300 additional jobs at its headquarters in Zuffenhausen for production of the new car.
The four-door Cross Turismo has an 800V architecture, and will be designed to work with the fast-charging technology heralded by Porsche during the build-up to the Taycan launch.
The Taycan will launch in 2019, and the all-electric vehicle’s production line is currently under construction.
