Hyundai Motor Company has introduced its latest all-electric vehicle, the Inster, at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. This new A-segment sub-compact EV aims to redefine the small urban electric car market with its unique design, impressive range, and advanced technology.
The Inster boasts a bold exterior that combines futuristic elements with a spacious interior, all packaged in a small SUV body. Its extended dimensions place it between traditional A-segment city cars and larger B-segment models, offering improved practicality without sacrificing maneuverability.
Powering the Inster is a choice of two battery options: a standard 42 kWh or a Long-Range 49 kWh variant. The Long-Range model delivers a segment-leading 355 km range on a single charge, according to WLTP standards. Rapid charging capabilities allow the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes using a 120 kW DC fast-charger.
Inside, the Inster features a tech-forward cabin with dual 10.25-inch screens for the digital cluster and infotainment system. The interior design emphasizes versatility, with all seats capable of folding flat for maximum flexibility.
Hyundai has equipped the Inster with an extensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Highway Driving Assist 1.5. The vehicle also offers both external and internal Vehicle-to-Load functionality, allowing owners to power external devices.
Sustainability is a key focus, with recycled materials used in both the exterior paint and interior trim. The Inster will launch first in Korea this summer, followed by releases in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Hyundai also teased a future variant called the Inster Cross, which will feature a more rugged, outdoor-oriented design.
