Hydrogen Vehicle Systems Ltd (HVS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dawson Technologies Ltd to advance the development of two hydrogen fuel cell Grand Touring (GT) racing cars. This partnership aims to enhance the progress of zero-emission vehicle technology and lays the groundwork for future collaborations.
The MoU outlines a collaborative effort to accelerate the completion of the GTh demonstrator vehicles while exploring additional joint projects. Both companies are focused on generating revenue and ensuring returns on their investments. They will also employ a shared branding strategy, featuring the D3/HVS logo in their marketing and promotional activities.
“The development of the GTh demonstrator vehicles is a key milestone in our commitment to zero-emission technologies,: said Ian Palmer, Managing Director of HVS. “Our partnership with Dawson Technologies will provide valuable R&D tools to bring our vehicles to market faster, benefiting both companies and the wider industry.”
As part of the agreement, Dawson Technologies will make its vehicles available for HVS’s technical testing, while HVS will provide its hydrogen heavy goods vehicle demonstrators for Dawson’s use.
The collaboration comes as hydrogen-powered motorsport categories, including the upcoming Le Mans 24 Hours Hydrogen class in 2027, begin to take shape.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to combine our expertise with HVS in developing cutting-edge hydrogen technologies,” said Ian J Dawson, CEO/CTO of Dawson Technologies.
The partnership is set for an initial five-year period, with potential for renewal as both organizations work towards their objectives and future projects.
