DS has announced that all models from 2025 will be electrified. The announcement, which was made at the 2018 Paris ePrix, means that from 2025, all new DS models will be electric, hybrid or both.
The first new model to fit in with the strategy will be the DS7 Crossback E-Tense 4×4, which will produce 304ps and have a 30-mile EV driving range. DS’s first all-electric model will be unveiled at the next Paris Motor Show in October.
Previously, DS has committed to making its second generation of models available with electrified variants; the latest announcement sees this strategy upgraded to offer electrification exclusively.
The news follows on from DS’s unveiling of the X E-Tense, the OEM’s vision of the car of 2035 – a futuristic three-seat design concept powered by two front-mounted electric motors.
The vehicle generates 547ps – a figure that rises to 1,379ps in ‘circuit mode’. The concept’s carbon-fiber chassis sits on springs and torsion bars, while traction, grip and deceleration is controlled by an advanced active system conceived to optimize performance.
