Charging solutions company NewMotion has been selected as the charging partner for Groupe Renault and its fleet of all-electric vehicles.
With the automotive manufacturer offering the Renault Zoe, Twizy, Kangoo Z.E. and Master Z.E. BEV models, the company has released its own line of home charge points, which will be available in 19 countries throughout Europe.
NewMotion, which has been creating charging solutions since 2009 and has more than 45,000 charge points across Europe, will provide Renault with the hardware for the new home charging points.
Two different types of charge points will be created, the Home Basic I and the Home Advanced I, which both deliver 11kw of power and on-board power management to optimize distribution between the home and charge point. The latter charger will also come with wi-fi capability to allow owners to remotely monitor and manage charging of their vehicle.
“Our combined expertise will create various new opportunities in the future, but we will start with making EV charging even more accessible for Renault drivers, NewMotion’s high quality solutions provide our customers with a great experience and make charging smarter. Our clients can now get both their EV and charge point directly from Renault, creating a true one-stop-shop solution” said Eric Feunteun, electric vehicle program director at Groupe Renault.
