As OEMs continue their commitment to the future of e-mobility, FEV has detailed plans to expand its development and testing services for advanced, high-voltage battery systems.
The 600m² building in Paris, France, will contain four walk-in chambers, four battery pack chambers, with a test capacity of up to 1,200V, as well as 300 testing channels for battery cells. The state-of-the-art test center will offer climate controlled test cells and real-time road, vehicle and powertrain simulation capabilities.
“We are confident that this test center is a future-proof expansion of our capacities and will meet battery development needs for many years,” said professor Stefan Pischinger, CEO at FEV.
“However, there is much more to come. We are also planning major expansions in China. The global expansion of testing capacities for e-mobility also includes test cells for electric drivetrains.”
The test center development is the latest expansion step as the company continues to invest in electronics and electrification resources.
