Frank Blome has joined Volkswagen as head of the Battery Cell Center of Excellence. The addition of the 48-year-old will aid the company in its ambition to introduce 30 electric vehicles by 2025 as part of its Roadmap E vision.
Blome formerly held positions as chairman of the board at Daimler’s subsidiary ACCUmotive as well as project manager and development manager at Continental, where he worked on developing electric drives.
Based in Salzgitter, Germany, VW’s Battery Cell Center of Excellence will be managed by the 48-year-old and will be responsible for battery cell development and production, including procurement and quality control.
