Alfa Romeo is set to showcase its latest compact sports car, the Alfa Romeo Junior, at the Balocco Proving Ground in Vercelli province. Ahead of its official debut, the engineering development team has completed the final dynamic testing of the vehicle, which boasts an electric motor with an output of 280 hp, comparable to the Giulia, Stelvio, and Tonale Veloce models.
This event, reserved for the international trade press, will take place before the type-approval phase. The Alfa Romeo Junior will be tested in its 100% electric 280 CV / 207-kW version on the same circuits where Alfa Romeo engineers have validated its dynamic design targets.
The car features a new electric motor debuting in the most performance-oriented configuration in the lineup. This compact Alfa Romeo Junior embodies the pure sportiness characteristic of the marque, with every design element focused on enhancing performance, road handling, and driving pleasure. Key features include segment calibrated steering, lowered sports suspension by 25 mm, extra sporty front and rear anti-roll bars for quick cornering and high grip, and high-performance 20” tires specifically designed for electric vehicles, providing extensive grip.
The testing event will utilize the 20-km “Langhe” circuit at the Balocco Proving Ground. This circuit, made fully available for the first time to the international press, has been integral to the development of all recent Alfa Romeo road cars. It is the same track where the historic Alfa Corse team fine-tuned their racing cars for international competitions like F1, DTM, and Super Turismo.
Industry expert drivers will test the highest-spec version of the Alfa Romeo Junior, offering a unique opportunity to experience the vehicle’s capabilities ahead of its market release.
