The city of Inglewood in California has introduced its first public electric vehicle fast charging hub, as it promotes more sustainable communities through expanded access to EV charging.
The two-charger hub from ABB and operated by EVgo Network was opened on September 21, located next to City Hall. The city’s mayor James T Butts, along with members of Inglewood Council and state executives were in attendance to test it out.
A video was released of the event where Mayor Butts took a drive in an electric car around the city and identified further potential destinations for fast-chargers including the LA Rams and Chargers new US$5bn stadium and its surrounding entertainment district.
“The entertainment district would be the perfect place for at least 10 charging stations,” said Mayor Butts.
